Gertrude was a happily married woman, she never expected to lose her husband in a war. She was always a strong politics fanatic and she did anything in her power to make her family proud. Women in her time were not encouraged to get involved in the war actively, but she was a stubborn woman. The loss of her husband made her purpose stronger, she will avenge him and take over his role. She was tried for war crimes and sent to hell after she took her own life in prison.

In Hell, she learned quick and saw eye to eye with Iseii, who was rising in power at that time. Seeing another like-minded politician with her views made her apply for a governor post. Having a sector will ensure that she will have forces to locate the people who executed her husband. She once fought with Juliette from sector 15 and lost her left eye. The two made up soon after. Gertrude's regime is sworn under Iseii's insignia and she controls minions, she has no elements.

Gertrude once had two default governor flames, but she traded them with Iseii to acquire a birth certificate so that she can have a son. It was all she wanted, to have a child that she could love and care for. Helmut follows his mother around most of the time, he does not have a true form since he does not know how to materialize properly but it's said that his current form is Gertrude's grief from long ago.
